Sustainability & Community Impact
At Bali Airport Protocol, we believe that true luxury is responsible. As a company born of and operating in the beautiful island of Bali, we have a profound responsibility to protect its unique environment, culture, and communities. Our commitment to sustainability is not an afterthought; it is integrated into our core business operations, from our choice of partners to our daily service delivery. Our goal is to ensure that our presence contributes positively to the future of the island we call home.
Environmental Commitments
We are actively working to minimize our ecological footprint through targeted initiatives:
- Carbon Offset Program: We partner with the Indonesian-based platform, Jejak.in, to calculate and offset the carbon emissions from our vehicle fleet. We also offer our clients the option to offset the carbon footprint of their flights through this verified local program, which supports reforestation projects in Indonesia.
- Reducing Single-Use Plastics: We have a strict no-single-use-plastic policy in our operations. Clients are offered chilled water in reusable glass bottles or locally produced aluminum cans, not plastic. Our welcome kits use locally sourced, biodegradable materials.
- Transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs): We are committed to a greener fleet. Our goal is to transition 50% of our sedan and SUV fleet to electric vehicles, such as the Hyundai IONIQ 5, by 2028. We prioritize partners who share this commitment to sustainable transport.
- Waste Reduction: Our office operations are guided by a waste reduction policy, emphasizing digital documentation to minimize paper use and responsible waste sorting and recycling.
Community Empowerment & Support
Our business is deeply intertwined with the local community. We are dedicated to creating shared value and ensuring that local Balinese communities benefit directly from our success.
- Local Employment: We are proud that over 95% of our employees are Indonesian nationals, with more than 80% being native Balinese. We invest in their professional development through continuous training in hospitality, logistics, and language skills, creating long-term career paths.
- Supporting Local Economies: We consciously source our supplies from local businesses. The welcome refreshments we offer are from Balinese social enterprises, and our client welcome gifts are handcrafted by artisans from villages like Tenganan and Mas, providing them with a direct and fair income stream.
- Youth Education Initiatives: A percentage of every service booking is donated to the Bali Children Foundation. This incredible organization provides educational pathways for children from disadvantaged remote villages, helping to break the cycle of poverty.
Cultural & Natural Preservation
We see ourselves as custodians of the Balinese experience, which includes its rich culture and stunning natural landscapes. We actively support organizations dedicated to their preservation.
- Marine Conservation: We are a corporate sponsor of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Indonesia, contributing to their programs that protect the coral reefs and marine ecosystems in the Coral Triangle, which Bali is a part of.
- Wildlife Protection: We provide annual financial support to the Friends of the National Parks Foundation (FNPF), specifically for their work in the Bali Starling (Jalak Bali) breeding and release program on Nusa Penida, helping to save this critically endangered native bird.
Our commitment to sustainability is an ongoing journey. We continuously seek new ways to improve our practices and deepen our positive impact. We believe that by operating responsibly, we can offer a superior luxury service that our clients can feel good about, knowing their travel contributes to the preservation and prosperity of Bali.
